Roger Joseph Daly of Point Lookout, New York and Sarasota, Florida, died peacefully on Saturday January 19th surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 12, 1930 to Roger and Theresa Daly. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Jane Toal Daly and three children Roger, Jane (John) Culkin and Megan (Philip) Fahey. He was the devoted "Poppy" to his cherished grandchildren Colleen, Sean, Caroline, Tara and Philip. He is also survived by sister Teresa and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Jack and Thomas and sisters Mary Ellen and Eileen. Roger graduated from St. Francis Prep and St. Francis College in Brooklyn. After college he served in the Army during the Korean War and later received his MBA from New York University. Roger was a real estate investor and the owner of a New York City Taxicab Fleet. He served on many boards and charitable organizations. He was a long time club member of Wykagyl, Laurel Oak and Rockville Links. He was a devout Catholic and avid sportsman. Roger was loved so dearly by his family and many friends. He was known for his loyalty, humor, kind heart and vibrant personality. Roger loved life and lived life to the fullest. A wake will be held at Macken Mortuary 52 Clinton Avenue Rockville Centre. on Wednesday and Thursday January 23rd and 24th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral Mass will be held Friday January 25th at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Point Lookout, New York 10 am.
